  Notes	Oscar and Mary moved from Mahaffey to Ellwood (outside Pittsburgh) with their two boys James and Ronal at the time, before Karen was born. They probably moved there in 1942 or 1943, after the war broke out to find work. Oscar ended up working at a steel mill and lived in an apartment above a garage. They rented their house in Mahaffey, while in Ellwood. The same house where their son Larry has lived for many years [as of 2019]. The renters burned furniture, including wooden chairs and wood from the walls to stay warm during the winter. Their daughter Karen was two [in 1946] when they moved back to Mahaffey. [1] Karen’s mother had an early-stage miscarriage with twin boys between Ron and Karen. [1]
